Frankly, this is a tough one for me. Tom is/was against everything I stand for and this video interview shows he wants to move our pool off the beach. Terrible idea just like his supporting the name change and ok with knocking down historic properties.

Herman, on the other hand, was instrumental in putting the Name Change on the ballot--would not buck Scott Maxwell or the city manager...never does. He has changed his mind about the pool being moved so noone knows where he stands on that issue. But he will go along with the majority.

IMO, Richard was the only one who would have stood up and not been consumed by the bullies on the dais.

I agree. I don't like either one.

They couldn't force him to campaign. I don't understand this; he could have just said he's no longer interested in the job.

It was the expedient thing to do under the circumstances. Of course he's still interested in the job but you have to have an expectation of winning. The city gave him no time to formulate a strategy for that and there was way too much ground to make up in one week. The city admin and dais wants Herman and they will more than likely get him back.

Neither one would be my choice, but I think Herman is the better of the two. Tom looks like he still needs a babysitter.
