Columbus Day is not a paid Holiday for Florida state agencies--

However, Lake Worth City Hall will be closed on Monday, October 12, for Columbus Day. As you are aware and as previously reported, Columbus Day was successfully negotiated as a paid holiday for one out of three unions in Lake Worth--the IBEW union members who work for the City of Lake Worth. Some departments will be open--the recycling guys started early this morning.
The PMSA/PEU union members get 11 paid holidays including their birthday. That is important. Without them being born, we wouldn't have them working for us. Columbus Day has not yet been finalized.
