Nothing is Safe

Comment Up

A lot of crime is happening around J Street downtown Lake Worth. This is just an example of one. Poor gal...thought her bike was safe all locked up and that we were a bike friendly city.

First: wrong assumption.that bike has a dropped frame which can be used by a girl but NOT necessarily a GIRLS bike. Buts that's OK, you might not be "in tune" with today's advances in bike technology.
Second: Bikes are easy targets for quick $$ unless the owner secures their bike properly. the securing chain or cable must go around the frame and thru the spokes of both wheels. The owner of this bike (who MIGHT be a girl) had quick release hubs which takes all of 2 seconds to remove a tire. Securing a bike properly is a deterrent, not a guarantee that your bike will still be there. If LW is going to be a city who is bike friendly maybe the city should get involved and get some signs up showing "How to secure your bike".

you're not the thief are you? maybe the commission should have a real bike thief give them some pointers before they print up signs.

Bike thiefs, and bike parts thiefs, are usually crack addicts just looking for something they can sell for $20 so they can go get high again. The PBSO needs to locate and bust the crack houses. Get these losers out of town!!

No, I'm not a bike thief....but I am the owner of an expensive bike who likes to take precautions when my bike and I are separated.

Just dont try to steal my bike.....I am a defender of the 2A
