Famous Palm Beach designer, Lilly Pulitizer
passed away this morning. Read about it here.
Everyone who is from the Palm Beaches, at one time in their life, owned a Lilly. Her clothes were special and you could spot someone wearing one blocks away.

Lilly's sophisticated, casually elegant sundresses one sees them in first Class Country clubs, Beaches, palatial home picnics, swimming pools on all the right resorts, Palm Beach, Monte Carlo,Cap d'Antibes,Cap Ferrat, Deauville,Biarritz, the Marbella Club( you remember elegant handsome Prince Alphonso von Hohenlohe overseeing the Bar for beautiful, well bred girls,, etc.,dresses are worn by real ladies.My favorites are a Fuchsia with scalloped hem and a strapless Guipure lace in her favorite pink. My garden dress is in her yellow Irises, with long green stems trimmed with white pique'. Her pink and green classic waterlilies, strapless sundress I gave to a friend who has an important place in Nice.So Lilly is even in Nice!They were only from $375.000 to approx 4675.00! God rest her soul.SHE BROUGHT POSITIVE JOY TO MANKIND,unlike the seedy element which attacks you Lynn!Bravo girl!
Lily was also at the forfront of men's summer/resort fashions long before Ralph Lauren and other brands. Rather than have to weat yellow polyster shorts Lily brought out first her bermuda shorts and trousers for men a d later jackets in her wild lily patterns. Throw on a white shirt or tee shirt and that was it. Newport, PB,Vineyard, Nantucket, Round Hill...you could always tell a well dressed Lily guy. my lily shorts are probably 30 years old..She will be missed
