Peter Timm, Lake Worth Citizen Extraordinaire

Comment Up

Peter Timm, resident of Lake Worth and long-time attendee of city hall meetings, announced last night that he has given up on this commission, that he no longer wishes to address this body. Bottom line, people are fed up with the bullying of this commission.  I believe this transformation came about subliminally over time but the night that this commission allowed a deputy sheriff to stand behind him during commentary on the general obligation bond was the final straw. It was a sad moment when a citizen can be bullied to this extreme--sad for this commission and our city and the Constitutional rights of Peter Timm to express himself freely.

He has always studied the back-up before every meeting and is very informed. He also has given every commission hell when it was needed but I believe this commission, a body for which he had high hopes,  disappointed him the most. The saddest part of all is that this commission does not care...one down a few more to go and they will have no open vocal opposition to get in their way. This city had better awaken and take an active interest.

What he said:

"Yes, unfortunately I am going to retire from the Lake Worth commission, from these meetings. I don't want to but as I have said before, I am very disappointed in this commission. It seems that we work for you instead of you working for us. Most of my questions go unanswered and I only have two minutes to speak that is strictly enforced.

So I feel the taxpayers of Lake Worth are worth nothing more to you than their walking wallets that you are free to tap into at any time you want. And I feel that things have gotten out of hand and out of control.

Our Finance Director retired and you hired a new one but after only 6 months, he quit. All this time you and staff were working on the bond issue in the back rooms but we didn't know anything about it. Both finance directors knew all about it and I wonder if this had anything to do with their leaving. This is not a $10 an hour job and with the money they make, you would think that they would be happy to have it. So, I feel there is more to this story than the taxpayers have been told.

And since I have used up my two minutes, the rest is yet to come. Thank you."

While I like Mr. Timm, he was often confused about what was going on. Regarding the incident on 9-5-14, everyone was told the topic of discussion at the start. Mr. Timm spoke towards the end and ignore the Mayor's instructions. When he started speaking off topic, the Mayor asked him to stop. He merely raised his voice and continue as the Mayor again asked him to stop. The Deputy came in on his own due to the loud voices. The word "bullying" does not apply to this situation.

@2:35...that's your story but we know the truth.
In fact. Mr. Timm doesn't even have to speak with a microphone...his voice carries.
The mayor should not suppress a citizen when he is speaking to a bond that would tie up one for 34 years. How ridiculous is that?
This is what we are talking about here--BULLIES.

Peter Timm's spot on truth really ruffles you SOB'S doesn't it? It's shameful.

I doubt the mayor would ever allow her father to be treated like that in her pretense! Why should Mr Timm or anyone of us follow the rules if the dais doesn't? We know Our Punishments for Non-Compliance but what Punishment is there for the dais that disobeys?

There is none and that's why they are called Bullies!

There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING COMICAL about Mr. Timm. He touched on very serious issues.

Running a meeting is not easy. You have rules that need to be followed and Mr. Timm broke the rules. Many folks wanted to speak that night about the bond issue that had just failed. If the mayor let him speak she would have had to let everyone speak. That being said there was no need to have a deputy stand ready to remove him. When I saw this it made me very uncomfortable and it was something that should not have happened. I wish the mayor after hearing tat folks wanted to discuss the bond, had just stated that she would call a special meeting within a few days to do just that. Instead it was ignored and folks were shut down. Time for the mayor and the commission to start listening to what the citizens want.

Mr. Timm, please sue the crap out of each individual Commissioner and that punk cop that had the nerve to think it was OK to intimidate an American citizen. They cannot hide behind their unions or the city in the case of civil rights violations. Sue them on the grounds of elder abuse and civil rights violation. You will win,or else at the very least you will get a very fat settlement. Use the money to finance some decent candidates for office. YOU ROCK,MR. TIMM !!!!

Mayor Triolo, you are a bully. You delight in beating up citizens that have no way to answer you . How dare Maxwell tell a fellow Commissioner that he has a time limit on how long he may speak on an issue? Maxwell is the one who needs a time limit !! And what was that B.S.About the city having had 30 meetings about the bond issue? All the city had was one -sided propaganda fests for the bond where no one could speak against it !

@5:43 keep drinking that koolaid and please stop using. Thank you.

Kool-aid for all! Let's get Mr. Timm appointed to all the open positions on advisory boards. That would really serve the dias right. He could teack all of them how to learn about LW.

The Deputy has said that he came in on his own. The Mayor should have motioned to him that its was okay rather than let his stand there in the aisle. And Katie certainly give the Deputy an earful about treating Mr. Timm like that.

Bull crap anonymous at 7:34. I was sitting in the back row and I saw Ms. Fish motion the deputy to come in as soon as Peter spoke.

Anon @ 7:44 (or Lynn) - let's put cameras in the back of the chamber and the hallway to monitor everything. We could have multiple channels live-streaming at once and people at home could choose what they want to see. A channel from behind the dias would be great so we can see what the people up there are doing.

@11:01pm...it must have been past your bedtime. The only time I sit in the back row is like NEVER. The other night I stopped and sat there for a few moments on the way out the door. The meeting in question for Mr. Timm is Sept 5 when a resident saw the incident with the deputy. That person was sitting in the back row as was the person who called in the deputy.

As far as multiple cameras are concerned, I would like to see them move the screen or have a camera focus on it when they are doing presentations. I am sure that could be done. And as far as what you might miss, the bully blogger has it covered. :)

Mayor Pam Triolo needs to give a public apology to Mr. Timm for the way she allowed him to be treated.Where was mayor Triolo last meeting? She probably got wind of what Mr. Timm was going to do and was too chicken to face him. As for Fisbottom, Piggy needs to remember that it's not nice to stray into somebody else's pig sty.

I think Mr. Timm is kinda wacky, but I appreciate his passion and his dedication to this city. I'm not sure anyone else attends as many meetings as he does and goodness shouldn't that be rewarded not penalized. Don't our elected officials want the public to attend and engage or do they only want their side to cheer lead them left and right.

To have PBSO come in and stand behind an elderly man who everyone knows well and knows is harmless is absolutely insulting.

Anonymous said...

Well that will knock off about 30 minutes per meeting!

Not wacky just a concerned citizen. I would suppose that is 100% better than being part of the sheeple that you seem to be and nasty to boot.
