Why would these same politicians rush to advance impeachment articles, pass those articles with no Republican votes, declare President Trump an existential threat to the Republic, and then place those articles in legislative purgatory and refuse to transmit those articles for trial?

The impeachment inquiry, investigation, votes, and ultimate refusal to transmit articles are not about removing Trump from office. Rather, it is a tacit acknowledgment he will be re-elected in November of 2020. The plan now is to use impeachment to neuter that second term with a Democrat-controlled Senate.

This impeachment exercise is most assuredly about removing someone from office. It’s just not about removing Trump from office. It’s about removing Cory Gardner, Martha McSally, Thom Tillis, Susan Collins and Joni Ernst from their senate offices.

A Democratic Senate would make the assemblage of a Cabinet next to impossible, end the filling of judicial vacancies, paralyze the country should there be a U.S. Supreme Court opening and ensure that both the House and Senate spend their time investigating the executive branch.

If you think the country made little to no legislative progress with a Democrat-controlled House and a Republican president, just wait until there is a Democrat-controlled House and Senate and a Republican president.

It’s official: Americans have stopped listening to the Swamp

On day 3 of the Senate impeachment trial Americans tuned out.

Fewer than 12 million people watched the trial’s opening day on Tuesday, compared with about 13 million who viewed the first day of impeachment hearings back in November. That was already a low bar to cross: Day 1 of those hearings drew 32 percent lower ratings than even James Comey’s uneventful Senate testimony in 2017.

With each new hoax, more Americans catch on and simply change the channel. During November’s sham “hearings,” for example, viewership dropped quickly as Democrats’ “star witnesses” offered no actual evidence to support impeachment. In fact, most of them had never even met President Trump. They just shared their opinions.

Lake Worth's Unique Character will change

Opponents consider legal action against redevelopment project replacing cottages

Although we've mentioned it before on this blog, the night that the Lake Worth City Commission approved of demolishing and/or moving some historic homes to make way for developers, the city's chamber was packed with people against. The commission didn't listen; it never does.

"Reached by phone Friday, Lake Worth Beach Mayor Pam Triolo said the city needs thoughtfully planned housing units and parking to boost the tax base and help provide foot traffic for downtown businesses." If you want foot traffic downtown, get some stores where people want to shop. Get rid of the lousy restaurants and reduce the number of bars.

And mayor, this is in the CRA's tax base and any tax revenues from increases in real property value, referred to as “increment,” are deposited into the Community Redevelopment Agency Trust Fund and dedicated to the redevelopment area. So, good luck in the city's "boost" in taxes down the road. That increase will all go to the CRA and the city's portion is frozen as the commission continues to make one lousy decision after another.
