Bernie Moreno warns Chinese electric vehicles pose a mobile spying threat
Moreno Says Trump Saw The Threat Early
Senator Bernie Moreno went on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo and made the case that Chinese electric vehicles should not be welcomed into the American market. He said President Trump was right years ago to warn about China’s growing threat to U.S. industry, and he argued that the auto sector still matters too much to let Beijing-backed companies walk in and take over.
Moreno pointed out that the American middle class was built in large part by auto jobs, and he said it would be reckless to let heavily subsidized Chinese cars flood the country and squeeze out American workers.
That is not protectionism for its own sake. It is common sense, which seems to be in short supply whenever global elites start drooling over cheap imports and calling it progress.
Moreno said these vehicles are not just cheaper alternatives. In his view, they are loaded with cameras and connected systems that can send data back to the Chinese Communist Party.
Moreno called them surveillance devices on wheels, and he said Americans would never knowingly buy that kind of equipment for a foreign adversary. That is the kind of warning Congress ought to hear before it gets too cozy with Beijing’s bargain bin of high-tech trouble.

American cars were once very good but sadly that was because ago we only buy Japanese, American cars aren’t worth the investment
