Why Democracies and Democratic Constitutional Republics always Fail

Ken LaCorte:

Socrates warned that democracy could become like a ship where the untrained passengers ignore the navigator and follow the smoothest-talking sailor. He was later killed — via democratic vote — for questioning the established order.

Again, I’m not unduly worried about the status of the United States, but there are troubling trends that none of us should ignore. Two constant refrains I found were tribalism and loss of faith, both of which are trending up, says Ken LaCorte.

The tribalism is strong already: 72 percent of Republicans and 63 percent of Democrats say the other side is “immoral.” And I can show you lots of charts about peoples’ declining trust in institutions. It’s real and it’s a problem.

We need God, theocracy now! Come Jesus!

Well worth watching although the U.S. is not a democracy but a representative republic.
