Days after Trump’s summit with Putin, Zelenskky and top leaders from Europe met with the president in the hopes of paving a way to the end of the war.
Setting expectations in a social media post, Trump indicated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will have to accept some territorial losses and give up on aspirations to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to settle the current conflict with Russia.
“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight,” Trump began his Truth Social post on Sunday evening.
Trump has repeatedly raised the prospect of land swaps and territorial cessions as part of a plan to settle the conflict. But Zelenskyy has pushed back on the idea. So what will happen? Everyone wants peace.
