Trump/Putin Summit in Alaska - ‘No Deal Until There’s a Deal’

Top Takeaways from Trump-Putin Summit

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin left the world guessing on Friday after a historic summit that yielded no details about what was discussed, what was agreed to and what remaining sticking points remain to ending the war with Ukraine.

The two leaders holed up behind closed doors for around three hours at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. What they talked about, however, remains largely a mystery as the two leaders, standing side-by-side
at a joint news conference, revealed very little of what “progress” they said was made. They took no questions from the press.

Here are the top takeaways from the summit:
  1. No deal on ceasefire but ‘progress’ made
  2. Trump gives Putin red-carpet treatment
  3. Much remains a mystery
  4. Carefully choreographed around ‘peace’
  5. Trump to call Zelensky, world leaders

The meeting lasted only three hours but absolutely nothing came out of it other than detente. Putin suggested that they have their next meeting in Moscow but I would doubt that would be the location. Ceasefire was not agreed unless certain conditions were met to Putin's satisfaction.

I watched this from 1pm yesterday until Trump left Alaska and was totally disappointed. Dealing wih a sociopath is tricky business...even if you did write the Art of the Deal. More information should be leaked out today.

Trump gave Putin the royal treatment yesterday, but I’m sure “Russia, Russia, Russia” was a hoax.

I think it was a good visit. What have we gotten for hating Russia all of these years. I think Trump and Putin genuinely like and respect each other, but they come from very different worlds. The KGB is the same as the CIA, but the American People don't realize that we have our own spies and killers. How do they think we got Bin Laden, with breadcrumbs?
I won't say I'm a cockeyed optimist, but I think there is some hope here. Not too many people really want to die for their country, but if the Ukrainians want to die for their country, it looks like they are going to have an opportunity, if they don't get reasonable. As far as Trump having trouble walking, the democrat's president was in a wheelchair and had a mistress, so shut up about that.
