Governor DeSantis addresses Annual Budget

Governor DeSantis Balancing Florida's budget

Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed nine bills and cut $590 million in spending from Florida’s $115.1 billion budget this week, rejecting a series of member-backed appropriations and policy proposals as the end of the bill-signing period nears.

The governor’s vetoes included funding for local energy initiatives, school expansions, and public media, along with bills addressing university governance, probation pilot programs, and wildlife enforcement authority.

The nonprofit group Florida TaxWatch said DeSantis vetoed 65 of the 238 appropriations listed in its annual “Budget Turkeys” report and $126.1 million in member project appropriations that the report said merited close scrutiny.

Florida really needs to give some property tax relief because it's going to hurt them in the long run if they don't the taxes are getting too high and every year they just keep making them more and more expensive for people to live in Florida and people are going to start leaving the state soon if they don't lower the property taxes. I know I'm one of them thinking about moving out of the state because they are just too high and they keep going higher and higher and we're just not getting any bang for our buck!

Florida is one of the few states that balance its budget. We have NO state income tax. There are only 9 states with NO state income tax so be careful if you move from the best state in the country. Check this out--https://www.tax-rates.org/taxtables/property-tax-by-state
