Families forced from their homes due to sewer backup in Lake Worth Beach
"The city says raw sewage backed up into three homes Jan. 21 near the corner of 3rd Avenue North and North D Street, when city workers from the Water Utilities Department were cleaning a sewer line and hit a clog—possibly made up of grease and oil—and that caused sewage to back up into the three homes."City Manager Michael Bornstein says, “We really understand what they’re going through. It’s horrific and we’re profoundly sorry for that. This is a very unfortunate set of circumstances." In the meantime, the city has accused home owners of perhaps pouring grease down the drains.

Thank you for posting Lynn Anderson. All Mike Bornstein does is whine about the cost. Former Commissioner Retha Lowe is housing and feeding one of the tenants - 95 year old Miss Iris - at no cost to the City of Lake Worth Beach. The Community is already collecting furniture and household goods for Miss Iris's home when it ready.
The story is a LITTLE different that the story we heard at the Osborne Community Center on Tuesday. I guess the City instituted DAMAGE Control PR.
