The city's statement brought up Charlottesville where we all know that riots and even a death never would have happened if the hate group, Antifa, had not ascended on the scene to do violence against the other group, the KKK. You are never going to end hate groups but you can, as city officials, find a way to deny permits to them.
Black minorities are raising havoc and protesting everything imaginable...even want reparations from Whitey because of slavery 150 years ago. Prior to that, blacks in Africa were putting their own people on slave ships and shipping them to America for profit. Different times; different cultures. And what some blacks did to white people after the civil War--horrors.
I remember John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson and how we all, as a nation, had come together for civil rights. I was a proud Democrat back then and was for 40 years. I thought all this "hate" was over with and then came Barack Obama 50 years later. Obama emphasized his black heritage, not his white, the start of the racial divide. At that time, 70% of Americans thought race relations were better and would continue under Obama. Instead, racial relations was one of Obama's biggest failures. His erstwhile pastor, Jeremiah Wright, was brought into the mix with his "God damn America pitch. That was the deciding factor in my life to officially change my party affiliation once and for all.
NO one can convince me not to abhor the person or persons in the video below with their warped sense of injustices that they believe the African American has suffered and is still suffering in a land with opportunity for all. And I have no use for people such as these and don't feel the least bit guilty.

Tell ya what, when Democrats begin to recognize that they are the problem for coddling violent groups such as Antifa, members of a black-clad, left-wing group that violently attacked some pro-Trump demonstrators in liberal Berkeley, California who were there for a Freedom rally and to protest Marxism, then we have a huge problem. These people were beaten with clubs and one was hospitalized. I don't recall any elected Democrat condemning this.
Until you stop the anarchists from invading people's rights of assembly or their right to talk in order to give you have some F-d up excuse to cause violence, then we can talk.
