Ch. 12's investigative team? You mean the amateurs that you're always calling? Why didn't you call them to investigate how crappy that house looks? You the creepy crawly camera lady loves posting photos, the addresses and the owner's names of crappy homes but you failed to mention how crappy that home looks. Kind of like posting the landslide elections but not posting your sad sack buddy Drew's pitiful showing. Selective posting at it's best.
Or more appropriate for you and your blog- a load of b.s.

I went ahead and posted your comment to show everyone what a miserable human being? you are. What a total azz.
Selective posting? I can do what in hell I want on my blog which would mean that you never come over here again. We all know that there are very mean and nasty people living in our city. Rebecca is a hard-working school teacher. If you don't like her yard, volunteer to help her. That would be nice instead of personally attacking her home.
Get lost idiot.

Unfrigginbelievable the city would do this. 100 year old trees are something to be treasured, not destroyed for the obvious reason to collect more $$ from a citizen. Makes one wonder how safe any of our homes are. And the city advocates itself as in favor of trees. Thank the Lord this went to a news channel and this abuse was exposed. Very interesting how it all went away after that.

The city didn't cut the trees dum dum; learn to read.

too bad people don't tend to their own yards stead of condemning others and calling them names getthe tree was not killed and cut down like others in town have done also if hurricane comes through she might be a little safer.rebeca tree looks good for the nay sayers give them one dig

trees look like lake worth--old-ugly and on last leg

Anonymous said...

the nay sayers just don't stop do they now we have went from a quaint city to an old ugly city

In theory, they can live forever.

So Code tells her she has to cut the trees back, she does so (although not in a proper way) and code says now we are going to fine you for cutting the trees. I'd call this damned if you do and damned if you don't and why the heck doesn't code take its precious resources and focus on real issues, like health and serious blight before dealing with trees or grass.

Code didnt tell her to trim the tree in the first place. They where called to the property based on a complaint; hat racking a protected species of tree and after the town horticulturist made his determination, code was directed to enforce the ordinance in regards to the hat racking violation. Its not some personal vendetta agaisnt the property owner or the city flexing their muscles on a some poor singled out resident. They are just doing their job based on what the CODE reads. If you all dont like what the landscape code says maybe request the commission change it, plain and simple.

Lake Worth employees LOVE,LOVE LOVE, making life HELL for the residents. It's what they live for. This lady tried to do the right thing. The company she hired probably did this. Hey Dave,if you are going to insist that someone's trees be trimmed, why not take an extra three seconds and give her the Lake Worth approved trimming guidelines? Thank GOD for channel 12.
And on a personal note to Piggy Fishbottom; Congratulations. I heard your house made the cover of "The $hit Box Houses of Lake Worth".

Anon @ 9:55am, Finally someone hit the nail on its head! You =). Our LW Employees live solely to make the daily lives of the residents miserable. They're not here to you know, build a career, support their families or gain job skills... Nope, they wake up, brush their teeth and contimplate how on they can ruin someone's day today. First off, Rebecca needs to stop crying to the media and neighbors for sympathy in a pathetic attempt to get one over on this town. She made the mistake of hiring a company that hat racked her tree to begin with. The town came in after the violation occured! So lets not blame the poor Rebecca for not taking responsibility. Lets crucify Mr. McGrew and the town for following the "Ordinance" for hat racking! So tell me, how would Mr McGrew give the tree trimming guidelines if he didnt know she was going to trim the tree in the first place until after the deed was done? Know your source material before you spout off nonsense next time. Have a great day and good look on any possible future attempts to make inaccurate statements...

Her trees look fine. Leave the woman alone. Does anyone remember when Wes Blackman hat-racked a tree in his yard? Did he ever get fined?

Lynn Anderson said...

It wasn't Dave McGrew's fault. It wasn't Rebecca Hinson's fault either. She was told to trim her trees. She did what she was told not knowing about the code and to what point she could trim them down. Perhaps if she had been given that information, none of this would have occurred and she wouldn't have been fined, a resident who has always tried to be a good citizen. The city is always trying to "educate" or so they say.

Anonymous said...

She should have requested the information prior to trimming.. It was her mistake. Dave would have helped her if she would have contacted him prior to. But whats done is done... As for wes blackman i dunno but the rules always get bent for the biggest complainers, thats the ldub way

I have no problem with the landscaping code, but unless landscaping is creating a health and safety issue, I sure wish Code would focus on the slum lords, the crack shacks falling down, etc.

Anonymous said...

Code is dammed if they do it, dammed if they dont. They will always be wrong and look bad no matter how hard they work. Plus code CANNOT make anyone do anything! All they can do is take someone to a hearing and put fines on a property and thats it! Every month they take dozens to court but lets focus on all we dont see changing instead of actually doing research to see if code has already taken that "slumlord" to court.

Anonymous said...

What good does taking people to court do, if they never collect any fines. Condemn the property and tear it down. That's the only solution. Just like all our other laws; they have no teeth in them. Why does it take so long for the county to sell properties at a tax sale. How is it there are no sober homes or run down properties on the Island? I say send a task force over there to learn how to do things. But this is not a lack of knowledge, it's a lack of will. It's just easier to do nothing.

Code in lake Worth is just DAMNED. Damned nasty, damned kiss azz and damned stupid.Lake Worth SUCKS! Another embarrassment because Lake Worth employees LOVE(just like a previous poster said) to make the residents squirm. Because they can !Remember the employee in a hoodie that went into a church ,secretly filming Bibles(GASP) and scriptures(GASP) That was a world wide embarrassment to Lake Worth brought on by Andy Amoroso and City Manager Bornstein. The lady did the smart thing. NOBODY deserves to be treated like Lake Worth employees treat their customers.

If a tree is growing onto a neighbouring property and that property owns complains to code then it is that property that owns the tree responsibility to trim it.

Anonymous said...

Someone is always looking for someone else to blame rather than just fixing the problem and moving on...

Anonymous said...

I guess the fact that it was chilly out that day the code officer had a hoodie on doesnt fit into your agenda anony at 1:09, so you left that lil detail out. Also code only does what they are directed to do!!!! I do agree that andy is worthless and twofaced but your twisted views for the employees really show how ignorant you really are. What do you think of the code department and the officers lynn?

Lynn Anderson said...

Code does a good job as the largest percentage of properties in this city should be coded, IMO. I believe that they follow procedure and do what they have been directed to do. Sometimes they come up with cases all on their own. They are the eyes of the city when it comes to infractions. There are so many cases that it must be impossible to prioritize worst first. You can travel on any street in our city and see multiple code problems. There have been a few incidents where politics got involved like Ryan Maier's house and the Common Ground Church. I miss Jerry Coscia in my area. With Al Vega gone now, I have no idea who is in charge over here. The city never should have done what it did to Mr. Vega or to Mr. Petrino. Vega was trying to help the people at PB Mobile Home Park who have gone through hell.
