Unfortunately the police in our city and country create this problem themselves. They avoid having a heavy presence in the hood, in bad areas of cities, they are not present enough, only when there are calls or problems, then they come. If the police and our PBSO were present more and walking and out of their cars and on the streets more in the problem areas of the city having more a presence they could improve relations and PREVENT a lot of crime and problems and also improve race relations, the police still have a lot to learn. The police have to stop hiding out in the nice and safe areas and have more of a presence in the bad areas if they ever want to address this problem and race issues.

The police aren't here, either.And if the police did have a bigger presence in "the hood" as you put it,there would be screams of racism at the police for being in the hood more than in the "nice,safe,areas". And as for your "the police still have a lot to learn" comment,what the hell are you even talking about? THE POLICE have to learn-WHAT? What about fighting crime do the police have to learn? Do you think that maybe the CRIMINALS and THUGS that are requiring the police to be called should "learn something"? Stop acting like an ignorant victim. You're not. I think 2:36 had a lot of good points. I was downtown for Evening on the Avenues...I saw one cop at the Cultural Plaza and that was a surprise just seeing him there. They used to be there a lot several years back. The sheriff is reactive not pro-active and crime is ridiculous in our little city. We need to see more police presence. We pay enough.

The police and PBSO don't go in the hood a lot because it is like another country for them, they are afraid of it likely and maybe don't want to look racist if they have to correct something or enforce a law for foreigners.
It is all about money anyway, just let the illegals loose and drunk til they kill themselves, all that wonderful tax dollars for beer sales, that is all our government cares about today anyway.

I did see a Sheriffs car drive into my neighborhood Friday afternoon. I don't know if they stopped or not. It was about 5:00 in the evening. About 6 months ago I sat in front of my house in a lawn chair with water, a book and some fruit. It was HOT, but I sat out from 8 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. ( I will admit one 5 min. potty break). My street is a well traveled pass through. Not even ONE PBSO car came by. Not ONE ! Our city is getting very little bang for our buck. PBSO is NOT worth the money we are paying them. Everyone needs to come to a city commission meeting and express your concerns about this.However, the only thing more rare than PBSO patrolling a neighborhood is a Lake Worth City Commission meeting. Good luck !
When the pbso first took over they seemed to really have a presence and were cleaning things up, now you never see them go buy or are never in the ghetto unless to pick up a dead or injured body it seems. They like to hide out at the beach, golf course, or ball parks up on 22 Ave N. Our city has a lot of crime now and so much lawlessness by illegals, immigrants, bikers, drug dealers, drug users, prostitutes, homeless, and white trash. Anything goes here now it seems. While the PBSO can't cure all the ills of the city, what can they do to show more of a presence here?

The UK although outwardly portraying an image against anti-Semitism, abstained like Germany from the UN vote together with most of the other western nations. The reason was through leaked media sources because they did not want to upset Obama. Therefore there appears to be something really sinister going on when Nazism in all its guises is not condemned?
The other frightening thing about this terrible situation is that NO media in the 'West' has mentioned this very important issue for future humanity. Has Obama et al therefore silenced Western media it has to be asked as if Russia had sided on the side of Nazism, it would have been on the front pages of all mainstream western media outlets? Is it because it was Russia that put forward the UN Declaration to condemn Nazism do you think?
