It happened on January 28: A crowd in Nazare, Portugal, watched as
surfing legend Garrett McNamara appears to break his own world record
for the biggest wave ever surfed. The wave was estimated to be about 100
feet high.
The photo of Garrett McNamara, son of Laurence McNamara of Lake Worth, is the eighth one presented in the CNN Year of pictures.
