Your calls and emails have removed some of the bad provisions of this bill, but at the last minute Big Sugar added a provision that blocks litigation filed by enviro groups to protect the Everglades. The bill is packed with provisions relating to sugar company leases in the Everglades, making it easier to wipe out wetlands and limiting the power of water districts to control pumping.
Creates, amends, & revises numerous provisions relating to: development permit applications; marinas, boatyards, & marine retailers; general permits for special events; well permits; recovered materials dealers; exemptions from permits, fees & related environmental requirements & regulation; stormwater utility fees; major sources of air pollution; restoration of seawalls; & state-owned land leases; creates Florida Fertilizer Regulatory Review Council.
Please tell Governor Scott to VETO HB 999.
