It was just reported by CrimeMapping that there was an ASSAULT that took place in our downtown on the 600 block of Lake Avenue this morning at 2:07:00 AM. According to the map, the assault was directly in the middle of the block.
At that time of the morning, the bars are just closing. What establishments are located in the 600 block? We have Dave's Last Resort, Brogues, and C.J.'s Island Grill. It could have been someone walking from another block but the fact remains that crime is growing and no one talks about it. We continue to hear from the PBSO how crime is down. Crime is a major contributor to slum and blight, our number one problem in Lake Worth.
People should be safe walking in our downtown.

This is scary and I just live a few blocks from there, it could happen to me coming home some night. The police need to be more present in the downtown and hood, they can prevent a lot with their presence, maybe they we would not see so many drug dealers and prostitutes on the streets too if they made more of a presence, I am starting to think the LWPD was better for our city than PBSO. They think they have cleaned it up and all is better now and seem to be on hiatus now, we need on going patrols and presence in this city, we need serious and vigilant policing. There is starting to be too much crime again here. PBSO please have more of a presence or bring back LWPD!
Thanks Lynn for this blog and informing us about this, I agree with you, "Crime is a major contributor to slum and blight, our number one problem in Lake Worth." I think this always seems to be one of the biggest themes of this city and blog, blight. WE need elected officials that will address this head on, we still do not have them. We need to eliminate the CRA in Lake Worth and make the CM and comm. address this better.
2:07 A.M. LOL. Had to laugh when I read this. It brought back the words that my Mom yelled to me every time I left the house as a teenager and then young adult -"NOTHING GOOD EVER HAPPENS AFTER MIDNIGHT !!"
