Aside from our oceanfront Lake Worth beach, our golf course is the most valuable land we own in this city. Aren't we lucky to have an 18 hole, par 70 course right on the IntraCoastal Waterway?
Golfers are a special breed of cat. They will play golf in rain, snow, sleet or hail. Nothing deters them from their sport. Yesterday in 95^ weather, these golfers were not deterred either.
The City Manager has stated that the golf course rounds are picking up. I am sure that our new golf pro, Chris Waller, will make our fabulous property a great success. We needed our own pro.
The Lagoon Restaurant opens at 8am and is doing well according to Karen who answered the phone. When asked if the golfers were supporting the restaurant, she said "yes." If any of you just want a nice place to have lunch with a gorgeous view, remember The Lagoon Restaurant. Let's support our golf course in every way that we can.

Did she provide numbers or just say it's picking up? With the city of West Palm Beach course closed for rennovations the LW course should be crowded as it's the next closest course AND right on the intracoastal. I drive past there 5-6 times per week and rarely see any golfers out there and that's a shame. My friends would rather drive down to Delray or out west thaen play at Lake Worth's course
...very good article, Lynn, I enjoyed it.
I have friends and neighbors that play that course all the time. One neighbor plays EVERY DAY!
I kid him about it now & then...it's pretty funny. :-)
We'll be sure to go for a meal at the Lagoon Restaurant, I had good things about it in the past but never did go!
I do not understand how the golf course stays open. It is not challenging, nor is it attractive. Its a good beginner course, but even that becomes tiresome. That is why there is so little play on the course.
Wait a minute....it's "not attractive"? I'd have to disagree with that.
