Sunset 1-3-25

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) won reelection to the chamber’s top job Friday in an early sign of unity among House Republicans as they head into the new 119th Congress...218 to 215

Johnson saw three members of his party vote against him, despite widespread speculation he lacked the votes needed or would have to undergo several rounds of voting in order to win. But then, after some backroom negotiations, two of those lawmakers changed their votes in favor of Johnson.

“A win for Mike today will be a big win for the Republican Party, and yet another acknowledgment of our 129 year most consequential Presidential Election!!” Trump posted on social media.

Good Night, Patriots

Johnson had to be elected so that Trump could hit the ground running. Johnson is a weasel. Nothing good to say about him but collective Republican noses had to be held to get him into this speaker position. He cannot be trusted. I hope his ass is kicked out of the speakership sooner rather than later.

Mike has learned to put Trump before all else. This is not necessarily about what is best for the country, but what Trump wants. He has learned well.

Mike Johnson negotiates and does his best with his decisions which is difficult when you have a slim majority as he has.
