Ethics Committee Investigatorial Report on Gaetz dropped

House Shuts Down Democrat Efforts to Publish Gaetz Ethics Report

When Matt Gaetz was nominated for Attorney General, he was still a member of the House.

There was an active Ethics Committee investigation on him that was just about to come to a vote regarding making the report public.

Gaetz resigned his seat, but there was still talk about publicizing the report since he had been nominated as the AG. That report, however, has officially been killed, and rightfully so.

The nearly party-line votes came after Democrats had been pressing for the findings to be published even though the Florida Republican left Congress and withdrew as President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general. Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., was the sole Republican to support the effort.

Gaetz is now a private citizen, and the House Ethics Committee no longer has standing on this issue.

So what if Gaetz did what they say he did. The 17yo girl knew better. Are they doing an investigation on her? Why is it always the guy's fault?

The Ethics Committee did a complete investigation and determined there was nothing to it.

That's actually not accurate. The report has not been released yet. Republicans have blocked its release.

Republicans in the House blocked its release and the Ethic Committee dropped it.

Well now, there you have it right. But that doesn't mean "there was nothing to it." It just means they are not releasing the results.

Well, you really do like to argue. The Ethics Committee said there was nothing to the allegations and did not want to release the report with all the sordid charges that were unfounded so that the Let could further smear Hegseth. The left is trying to turn this into a trial in the media, a show trial.

I just like accuracy. If you tell me it's raining outside and the sun is shining, I'm going to correct you. The Ethics Committee never, ever rendered a decision and I know you're going to say, "Google it" so I have. It's not there. On the other hand, I invite you to make me look very foolish and point me to the article that says otherwise.

The Ethics Committee rendered a decision and had a full report that Republican legislators would not release. Cute @ 4:41.

I plead with you to show me a link that backs up what you're saying here. You've got to have one, right? I couldn't find it so please embarrass me with a link that says that they found nothing that implicated Gaetz. You're so insistent on this point, you've got to have a source, right? Please share.

It's all in the Ethics Committee Report, anonymous which is not being released. It is based on unproved allegations against Gaetz. So, what in H do you want from me? Contact the Ethics Committee that is equally divided with 5 Republicans and 5 Democrats. So continue being unhappy.

Hey Anonymous, I have an idea for ya--Contact Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA), the top Democrat on the House Ethics Committee who admitted to the panel that she violated her sworn oath and leaked details of the investigation into former Rep. Matt Gaetz to the press. I'm sure she will be helpful as she just got defeated at the polls by a Republican and probably spitting mad.
