Corruption growing like a cancer in this Blue City

NYPD And Department of Homeless Services Workers Involved in $1M Identity Theft Scheme In NYC

An investigation into a ghost gun factory in the East Village of New York City has uncovered a large-scale theft operation involving ten government workers, including a former NYPD officer, with intentions to steal over $1 million from the city’s disadvantaged population, officials revealed.

Following an inquiry by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, 18 individuals have been indicted on various charges related to the production of ghost guns, exploitation of the state’s pandemic benefits program, and residential burglary. The investigation was initiated in 2022.

According to reports from The New York Post, District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated that the fraudulent activities were primarily carried out by city employees, many of whom worked for the Department of Homeless Services. These individuals allegedly misused their positions for personal financial gain.
