Omari Hardy one of Eleven Democrats running for Alcee Hastings' seat

Update on Qualifying dates for District 20

Secretary of State Laurel Lee has set the qualifying dates for the special election in Congressional District 20 prompted by the death of Rep. Alcee Hastings

Candidates have from 8:00 a.m. on August 9 until noon the following day to qualify. It costs party-affiliated candidates $10,440 to qualify and no-party candidates $6,960 to qualify. [FloridaPolitics]

There are 11 Democrats and 2 Republicans who have indicated they will run in the Primary.

Florida has a resign-to-run law requiring candidates running for office to resign their current office in order to qualify to appear on the ballot.

So, Omari Hardy had to resign his seat in the legislature where he had a lot of skirmishes with Republicans including one who publicly complained that Hardy was belligerent "the entire session." Hardy says he will promote the Green New Deal and all the other socialist policies should he win the seat..

I hope we never have to see that ugly mug ever again.

He quit his seat in the Legislature already?

I think he must have some personality problems. Something doesn't add up here.
