Police: Former Florida Lawmaker Arrested In Haiti On Weapons Charge
A Florida lawmaker who was disciplined after using a gay slur against a political rival, Omari Hardy, and who lost re-election earlier this year, is in custody in Haiti on a weapons charge. Circumstances of his arrest were a mystery.Everyone remembers Mr. Jacquet who was involved with his buddy Mack Bernard in helping voters to fill out their ballots in the 2016 election and submission of same. Florida prohibits Ballot harvesting--anyone other than a voter, a caregiver, or a member of the voter’s family or household” to deliver the absentee ballots to election officials.
Mack Bernard was reelected to the Palm Beach County Commission but Jacquet was defeated by Hardy.
