PBSO Cpt.Todd Baer gives his report to the City Commission

Last night, Cpt. Baer gave his presentation on crime stats for January through June 2017:

• Crime down 13.7%

• Arrests--1,668, up 21.66% from previous 6 months

• Traffic stops--4,121 (where the money is...they were out all over the place yesterday)

• Arrests per month average 200 and up 19.2%

• Overdoses:  Deaths average 7 per month with 579 overdoses in 6 months period. June was the worst month with 7 fatalities and 78 overdoses.

110 crimes at the beach and 3,330 in the south end of our city. We are paying for two more deputies to be at our beach. We are now paying 13,356,600 a year for policing.
