Lake Worth calls Special Meeting to set the millage and budget

Tomorrow, September 13, there is a special city commission meeting at 6pm in order to set the millage rate and the overall budget for 2017. Because of the rise in property values, everyone will be paying higher advalorem as the commission did not roll-back the rate. This is not a criticism, just an observation. We need money.

"For the General Fund for the purpose of providing money for general municipal purposes, and for the improvement and general government of said City. the millage and budget will come back for a second reading on September 20."
  • 5.4945 mills, $5.4945 per $1,000 assessed valuation;
  • This is 7.8347% more than the rolled-back rate of 5.0953 mils.
  • Set the budget for 2017
  • Establish charges for all fees and services (they all have gone up other than electric rate)
  • Solid Waste assessment stays the same at $245.76 a year
  • Stormwater assessment of $75.60 remains the same
