"It's just absurd at the lengths we have to go through for the town council to listen to the people. Town officials have been using scare tactics to keep the issue off the ballot."
~ Todd McLendon
Mr. McLendon was responding to the fact that Loxahatchee Groves' city commisison voted to approve Palm Beach State College's desire to build on 75 acres by approving two new land use ordinances in the College's favor by first, amending its future land use, and secondly, amending the ordinance that regulated property development.
McLendon and his group are suing the town for obstructing their right to vote on the issue finding this and that fault with his petition. Do you think that he is just another jobless guy with nothing better to do but to be divisive, lying to the public and demanding his rights?
Many of us know that the commission in Lake Worth was a big influence not only from the dais but behind the scenes to try and defeat the heights amendment in Lake Worth. They never publicly condemned the lies, distortions and illegal signs of the No group, aligned with them at every opportunity, and did everything within their power to convince the voters that the referendum was not founded on any sensibilities. In their camp, the Lake Worth Herald said, "campaign workers don't always tell the truth." He forgot to say that is was the NO people who lied throughout this election and it was the NO people with special interests, the only ones with a motive to lie.
The situation in Loxahatchee Groves is just another example as to why it was necessary to have a Charter change for height limitations in downtown Lake Worth. Now the Lake Worth city commission is trying to pull a fast one by suggesting a city-wide Charter change on height limitations. It still insists on a hotel district. Doesn't that beat all?
Before McLendon filed suit against his city, he said that Loxahatchee Groves refused to listen to the people. We know that silence all too well.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE NO PEOPLE, THE ONLY PEOPLE A WITH A REASON TO LIE.
HOW ABOUT THE YES PEOPLE WHOSE REASON TO LIE. IS ALL ABOUT POWER, DON'T WORK TO MAKE THIS CITY GET AHEAD JUST SAY NO NO NO>
You just didn't understand the referendum anony at 8:36. It had nothing to do with stopping progress in LW. It had everything to do with heights in our downtown. Where have you been? Are you one of those people who were fooled by the liars? Shame on you for not getting educated.
of course they didn't speak out against the NO people. they approved of the illegal banner and signs.
No it happen to be about 3 lots east of Federal Hwy and keeping the Gulfstream cloesd. There are already serveral buildings east of Federal that are over 65 feet. Does it really impact your quality of life.
When you have corrupt commissions that vote to change LDR's and comp Plans from the dais to suit a developer, well then YES--it could affect the quality of life in LW. This is a bigger issue than what I feel personally or MY quality of life.
The charter amendment was NEVER ABOUT 3 LOTS. YOU were duped, anony at 11:15. didn't you even read what you were voting on?
