When Shanon wanted to re up for the LW CRA she stated during her interview that she made a lot of money while on the CRA which was caught by a certain Commissioner's ear. Not knowing if that is true, I do know that she ran after persons appearing before the board with her business card. Counsel had to remind her that she is not allowed to solicit business from the dais. She also got a personal(for her business)loan from the CRA while a sitting member, which was forgiven with some money still owing. HMMMM........just saying...........AND, Shanon stated in the Post article recently that she was a leader.....sorry, no way, she is just a loud mouth who rambles on loving the sound of her own loud voice!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry 6:32 but Shanon did not get a loan from the CRA while sitting on the board. She did get a matching facade grant several years before she was appointed. Which was payed back on time and in full, not forgiven. Her business was and still is in the CRA district and the grants were available to businesses who qualified. Please don't make things up,do your research before commenting. Thank you

The lien was forgiven. I was at the meeting at the golfcourse when it was forgiven. Mrs. Materio had to leave the room when they all voted on it. That is probably what the anonymous poster is referring to, aside from just the fact that several people who served on the CRA as well as other boards were given grants.

Lynn are you saying that the CRA gave her a loan and put a LIEN on her property. Once the loan was repaid the CRA then Forgave the LIEN?

No.

As I recall, it was a facade grant...the Materios agreed to sign a mortgage lien for the length of the agreement which was 5 years. They were refinancing their property at 701 N. Dixie and in order to move forward, they asked the CRA to approve the subordination of its existing interest to the new lender due to refinancing.

In February 2009, They voted on a release of Lien. It was felt by the CRA that
1) McMow is an institution.
2) McMow deserved CRA support
3) There was not that much time left on the lien anyway
4) The work was completed and the lien was only symbolic
5) Their business should be rewarded

Wes Blackman agreed to all of the above. Materio, a member of the CRA then, was asked to leave the room as the rest of the CRA who were present voted. There was a 5/0 vote to waive the 5 months left on the lien.

God,that CRA was so dishonest! I wonder how much of the Millions spent on giving the drug dealers on 6th Ave south a good place to sit actually went into CRA members pockets.

Then the loan was paid in full as per contract? So why not forgive the lien with 5 months to go. The business owed nothing to the CRA and it sounds like a business decision was made. These attacks are the rewards they get for having a business and supporting the community for over 20yrs.

the CRA back then did favors for each other. Those people are still in bed with each other.

It wasn't a loan. The money was given to them...GIVEN. The CRA then released the lien early doing a favor to one of its board members. That was it.
