Volunteers are in town to help with Habitat for Humanity and building 10 homes in Lake Worth before February 11. With less than two weeks remaining, the CRA and its partners in the
Neighborhood Stabilization Program will work hard to meet the Feb. 11
deadline or be subject to losing the remainder of the Grant. Several months ago, Mike McManaman with the CRA said, “I don’t expect us to lose one dollar.”
"Owners of the Habitat homes in Lake Worth buy them with zero-interest
loans and are paying about $475 a month for the new homes, including
taxes and insurance — less than they would pay to rent a home or
apartment in most cases."
