Singing the "right" tune

State Rep District 89

Brandenburg raised $58,059 and garnered 40% of the vote to Clemens' $34,248 with 60%.

(The Supervisor of Elections Web site still is not recording the true numbers in many cases as of this morning)

Clemens did make the charge that heavy hitter (OMG) Republicans were behind the Brandenburg campaign. If you look at the Brandenburg list of contributors you will see that many corporations gave money and many of the contributions were $500 each. Clemens' contributors seem to be more grassroots but he did have endorsements from many Unions and the PB Post. While he was Mayor of Lake Worth he sat on all the Union Pension Boards, some of the very same Unions that are now in talks with Lake Worth, a city in financial problems thanks to the Union contracts.

Now that Jeff Clemens has won his primary, let's take a look at some of his contributors. Don't these Lake Worth citizens care how Clemens messed up the City of Lake Worth, costing us millions of dollars? And what about the PB Post that always influences elections based on one interview? I guess not. They either don't care, don't know and therefore they are a big part of the problem. Mary Brandenburg who was term limited just did not want to relinquish the power and ran her husband in her place. That did not set well with a lot of the voters.

Some of the usual suspects and some who are "in the know" who voted for Clemens in spite of his dreadful record in Lake Worth--

John Deese ...$350
John Paxman (former Chair of P&Z)...$100
McMow Art Glass (Shanon Materio)...$250
Shanon Materio (former member CRA and now head of Businesses Aligned for Change to defeat Mulvehill and McVoy)...$50
Phil Spinelli (Vice Chair of P&Z) ...$200
Dave Vespo (former Commissioner District 4 and a big part of the problem) ...$200
Matt Tompkins (former Chair CRA)...$100
Brendan Lynch (former member CRA)...$100
John Pauly, Jr. (don't know what he's doing here, Democrat I guess)...$100
Herman Robinson (former member of P&Z)...$150
Padma Hinrichs (litigation attorney, lives in his College Park neighborhood)...$200
Brent Whitfield (Neighborhood Association President College Park) ...$200

Vote for Steven Rosenblum for House Rep District 89 in the General Election on November 2. He has not taken any money from special interests and he is not a career politician. He is a common sense fiscal conservative. He has not held elected office and is untainted.

Steve says that he would like to go to Tallahassee to represent the people, not special interests. He doesn't care which way the political wind is blowing and will legislate based on common sense and conservative principles.

Steve says, "I am a fiscal conservative who will fight to shrink the size and spending of government and keep it out of your way. I will work for an independent forensic audit of our state budget and advocate for zero-based budgeting, so that every department and agency will have to account for every dollar it requests each fiscal year. I have a quality that is painfully absent in many of those who currently serve in our government, common sense."

Same old group of greedy jerks who want to sell off Lake Worth and it's assets for their own personal profit.Shannon Materio and Brendan Lynch. Remember them ? The tearful twosome who moaned ad cried to the high heavens when they were FINALLY,and THANKFULLY kicked off of the CRA. These two idiots thought nothing of spending MILLIONS of tax payer dollars to take over two county roads to make a "pretty entrance way " to their developer friend's (still empty) condo projects. The roads are now extremely dangerous for pedestrians living in the neighborhood. And the neighborhoods are still blighted. But hey,Shannon and Brendan, your friends got what they wanted, and thats what matters ,right? Herman, it's Wednesday, and you're in a pace called Lake Worth. John Paxman- Hey John, still trying to work those back door deals for the Smith property? These people are the same disgusting group that tried to sell our ballpark, golf course ,our beach and parks to developers. The same group that are responsible for the eyesore that destroyed the character of downtown Lake Worth, the Lucerne. All these pathetic losers care about is MONEY. Sad,but WE all pay the price for this group's greed with higher taxes and a ruined and blighted city filled with empty condos.

The really sad joke here is that Jeff won at all. Both were lousy choices but Jeff voted for so many things that hurt. He is the one who encouraged more illegals here. He is one smooth operator who hurt lake worth.

I agree with you Lynn. Jeff will not get my vote on Nov. 2. He really messed up Lake Worth. Not to mention his evil article in the Post a few years ago when he was bashing a good upstanding citizen that only cares about a better and safer city. Jeff is not an approachable candidate for this position, he will not listen nor support the constituents he represents, he doesn't care at all about us the people, it is all about his greed, power, money, and control. I will vote for the other guy, Steven Rosenblum, although I am more of a democrat, Jeff won't get my vote and I hope the people will wise up to his shallow view. God bless us here.

The sad thing too is that Wes Blackman is congratulating Jeff on his website, what is he nuts? I agree with you all here, I do not think Jeff should be congratulated, he was an aweful mayor and did very little for this city as mayor, he is a charmer and a big fony balony. He has been very hateful toward many citizens and wrote several letters and articles over the years even in the Post about good upstanding citizens in our city who only care about a cleaner, safer, less crime filled city. I will vote for Steven Rosenblum Nov. 2 even if I am a democrat. Jeff will not get my vote. If people in the area would wise up to his charming ways, they would see through his shallow viewpoint, he only cares about his own greed, power, money, and control. He will be in jail someday himself likely. He didn't listen to citizens when in office as mayor and he won't if in the State House, he doesn't care about his constituents nor wants to listen to them, don't think he will. He has already proven himself as a bad apple here in this city. He is not an approachable representative for the people as a whole and I do not think he is a good person to be in this position representing us the people. Do your homework folks, otherwise if you vote for Jeff you will be sorry again. We all will be.

I appreciate that those of you are self described Democrats are willing to give a Republican a chance. I hope you will tell your friends about me as well. I am a Republican, but I am not about voting the way the establishment wants me to. I'm going to analyze the issues and come to my own conclusions based on principles. I'm a fiscal conservative for certain, but on social issues I'm not always as conservative as others in my party.
If you'd like to help with the campaign or make a small contribution to pay for signs and such, please visit my website at www.electrosenblum.com or feel free to email me at steve@electrosenblum.com.

Clemens was the best manipulator and fudger than anyone around.

The bottom line is that it is all about him just being in a band that got him elected as the mayor and now as the dem. candidate for SH. He is no good and is a waste for us the people to have him representing us. He will nto listen to us, he is not approachable, and he does not have the intellect or education to serve his constituents, it is all about his fury for power.

Jeff has always been political saying the right thing when necessary whether he believed it or not. Actually I think he convinced himself that what he said was right. It has always been about self-promotion with him and getting to the next plateau. I met him once at the Dem clb and he was a likeable person. Mark Foley is likeable too. Too bad that they all can fool so many. I'm beginning to think that anyone can get elected whether they are qualified or not.
