Frankly, I don’t agree with anyone in this city 100% of the time. The person I come the closest with politically is Bill Coakley and we probably disagree 2% of the time—close enough. I disagree with Annabeth on Open Borders and this issue is one for which I am adamant. But again, so what? Everyone is entitled to an opinion; that is
Annabeth was asked to resign or she would be fired. When a City allows tyranny and tells a newly hired person to resign before she has even begun because some citizens don’t like her politics is an example of everything wrong with our city. The hiring or firing of Annabeth Karson was given back to the City Commission to decide--an unorthodox procedure because the Commission only hires the City Manager, the City attorney and the Auditor. When you have a Commission that does not stand up for an employee and allows itself to be manipulated, then what do we really have here? When you have citizens intimidating the city manager to this degree instilling the fear in her of being fired at the next political election, our city is doomed. She has become a powerless person and a false figment of what we had hoped.
What next will happen? Will all those who voted against Rene Varela be subjected to harrasment? Is Rene himself the culprit? Wasn't it he who said certain people would be "out in the cold" when he was elected. Are all those who voted for Loretta that powerful they can come into City Hall and demand that someone be fired? Are all those who did a smear campaign against Laurence McNamara all of a sudden the “good guys?” What about those who called for Annabeth’s head, some of the very same people behind the deceptive flier and the robo call, which I might add, the City has done and said nothing? It has gotten out of control.
I want to ask once again, who REALLY are the anarchists in the City of

AMEN ! We now have a very sad situation in Lake Worth. The illegal flyer put out by Mary Lindsey was a well organized effort by many people in Lake Worth. Using the city of Lake Worth on the flyer should cause an investigation by the state attorneys office ,at the very least.

I am listening to the CD of this meeting right now. Scott, I want to say that this WAS a witch hunt. This was a personal attack against Annabeth Karson from certain residents in this City. This was not a reverse witch hunt because your name was used in a couple of e-mails to the city manager.
I find it totally deplorable that this city commission did not stand up for Annabeth and keep her employment in place.
One of the requirements for this position is that it be filled by a community activist. Karson fills the bill. I have not heard much defense for Annabeth from the commission here. The majority could have retained her. They did not. Annabeth was thrown under the bus.
