100 years later, Banyan tree now only a memory

Comment Up

Nothing is sacred in Lake Worth--absolutely nothing.

The above trees are located on the north side of our Cultural Plaza. They are still happily growing and have been for well over 100 years it is estimated. They all have been the pride of Lake Worth. The banyan tree on the south side of the plaza was cut down. Nothing remains but sand and dirt. It has been said that someone on staff made the decision to cut it down deciding that it might be a liability. A few other trees are on his chopping block. He has apologized.

Who runs this city? I told Mr. Bornstein months ago that staff ran the city. He didn't believe me.

Australia tackling Illegal Immigrant problem

Australia, a country of around 22 million people, now has a 4 point program to stop illegal immigration of migrants coming from Sri Lanka.

"Boatpeople" have become a huge problem. Some perceive Australian immigration laws are weak and large immigrants have paid, and are now paying, substantial sums to traffickers who organize illegal entry into Australia.

"The four-point plan would entail information and intelligence sharing under which Australia would provide additional surveillance and electronic equipment to expand Sri Lanka's capacity to target smuggling operations and better identify vessel departure times and locations."

Australia has about 60,000 illegals and Australians are upset as they are taking Australian jobs,  Australian housing, using Australian taxpayer funded public services and welfare.

It sounds all too familiar.

Obama is going to allow suppression of speech through the Secret Service. Boy, I can think of a few activists who won't like this!

Al Gore sells to the Devil?

Comment Up

No, this has nothing to do with global warming. Former Vice President, Al Gore, has become a full-fledged card carrying capitalist by selling his television station to Al Jazeera, a news media that is anti-American. Of course, most Democrats high up in the Party are capitalists; they just like to fool us that they are for the poor and struggling masses.

Al-Jazeera, has acquired Current TV, that will reach about 40 million homes. With a focus on U.S. news, it plans to rebrand the left-leaning news network that cofounder Al Gore couldn't make relevant, says Newmax.

"To give voice to those who are not typically heard; to speak truth to power; to provide independent and diverse points of view; and to tell the stories that no one else is telling," said Al Gore when asked about the sale.

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. " -- Ariel Durant

Big Brother in Washington?

Comment Up
New radio waves coming from your faucet? Lake Worth's Constitution Lady has brought this up on many occasions.

Click here and read how big Brother is closer than you think. The government will even know when you flush your toilet! George Orwell's 1984 is becoming a reality where society is tyrannized by The Party and its totalitarian ideology.

And we know that this government is over-stepping its bounds because of what happened yesterday--

Without going through Congress, Obama's  Department of Homeland Security issued a new rule that will reduce the time illegal immigrants are separated from their American families while seeking legal status. According to The Los Angeles Times, the Obama administration eased the way for illegal immigrants who are immediate relatives of American citizens to apply for permanent residency, a change that could affect as many as 1 million of the estimated 11 million immigrants unlawfully here.

According a Gallup Poll, a full 62 per cent of the American people believe that stopping illegal immigration should be a top priority of the U.S. government. But hey, we don't matter.

Obama beat it out of town

Obama is now back in Hawaii...he couldn't wait to beat it out of town and spend more money...his favorite thing to do.

The U.S. Air Force provides the most current numbers of $181,757 per flight hour. Travel time for Air Force One direct from Washington D.C. to Hawaii is about 9 hours or $1,635,813 each way for a total of $3,271,622 for the round trip to Hawaii and back.

Chump change. Unbelievable!

Taliban and Black Cheetahs

Sort of like these!

Free moments to relax and read are rare lately, however, I am at the beginning of Mark Owen's book on the SEAL mission that killed supreme terrorist, Bin Laden. As this blog is about trivia, one interesting observation of the author was the type of sneakers the Taliban wear...black Cheetahs that sell for about $195. Rihanna wears black cheetahs!

“The dead fighters were dressed in baggy shirts and pants and black Cheetahs, high-top Puma-like sneakers worn by the Taliban fighters.

It was a running joke in the squadron that if you wore black Cheetahs in Afghanistan, you were automatically a suspect. I’ve never seen anyone but Taliban fighters in those sneakers.”

Obama played the Republicans like a fiddle

Comment Up

Not wanting to look like the "bad guys," Republicans capitulated early this morning and voted with Obama's $4 trillion of new debt over his new term as well as taxing more to 77% of Americans. The vote was 257-167. Republicans earlier had turned down Boehner's Plan B and this new "compromise" raises taxes even more.

Obama played them like a fiddle in what he knew was a no win situation for Republicans with 257 Congressmen delivering the American citizen a crap sandwich, knocking out John Boehner in the process.

Allen West said, "Raising taxes in order to increase federal government spending is illogical, and disrespectful to all hard-working American families. Sure, I support the "doc fix" and AMT solution, but again the DC way is to make a pot of gumbo and believe that it will taste good to enough people. The American people deserve better."

Barack in Numbers

Comment Up

As this blog is "trivia" the following is all about Obama according to numerology--I used his entire birth name as requested however, if you only use his first and last name, it gives a more accurate description, IMO.

You entered: Barack Hussein Obama
There are 18 letters in your name.
Those 18 letters total to 64
There are 8 vowels and 10 consonants in your name.
Your number is: 1
The characteristics of #1 are: Initiating action, pioneering, leading, independent, attaining, individual.
The expression or destiny for #1:
A number 1 Expression denotes the skilled executive with keen administrative capabilities. You must develop the capacity to be a fine leader, sales executive, or promoter. You have the tools to become an original person with a creative approach to problem solving, and a penchant for initiating action. Someone may have to follow behind you to handle the details, but you know how to get things going and make things happen. You have a good mind and the ability to use it for your advancement. Because of these factors, you have much potential for achievement and financial rewards. Frequently, this expression belongs to one running a business or striving to achieve a level of accomplishment on ones talents and efforts. Self-confident and self-reliant must be yours, as you develop a strong unyielding will and the courage of your convictions.
Although you fear loneliness, you want to be left alone. You fear routine and being in a rut. You often jump the gun because you are afraid of being left behind.
The negative attributes of the 1 Expression are egotism and a self-centered approach to life. This is an aggressive number and if it is over-emphasized it is very hard to live with. You do not have to be overly aggressive to fulfill your destiny. The 1 has a natural instinct to dominate and to be the boss; adhering to the concept of being number One. Again, you do not have to dominate and destroy in order to lead and manage.

As with all human beings, you are prone to sometimes express the negative attitudes inherent to your Soul Urges. You may become too sensitive and tend to express emotions strongly at times. There can be significant conflict between higher aims and personal ambitions. You may resent the idea of giving all of the time and, in fact, if there is too much 9 energy in your nature you may reject the idea. You may often be disappointed in the lack of perfection in yourself and others.

An Inner Dream number of 1 means:

4. “What do you want me to tell Romney? I can’t tell him to do that. I can’t tell him to do that to himself. You’re crazy. You’re absolutely crazy. You’re getting as bad as Biden.” – Clint Eastwood, talking to an empty chair at the GOP convention

Fiscal Cliff avoided

Comment Up

It went passed Midnight but in the end, Obama got most of what he wanted--more taxes on the wealthy and zero cuts in spending.

Tax rates will rise to 39.6 percent, up from 35 percent for individual incomes over $400,000 and couples over $450,000. Tax deductions and credits would start phasing out on incomes as low as $250,000. The wealthy will get slammed in 2013 as "fairness" was Obama's platform.

Spending cuts of $110 billion were deferred for two months. The delay will cost $24 billion.

Unemployment insurance has been extended for one year and that will cost $30 billion. Obama's two-percentage point cut to the payroll tax that has been going on for two years was not extended. Ironically, those who are working will be taxed more and those who are not will benefit for another year. With 800,000 unemployed in Florida, the average unemployment check is around $300 a week.

Eight Senators voted "no," one of whom was Marco Rubio.
