Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Quits After Being Told to Remove MAGA Hat
State Senator Defends Decision
There are moments when standing your ground doesn’t look like much from the outside. No cameras, no crowds—just a quiet decision made when no one’s watching. For decades, conservatives across this country have faced a familiar pressure: tone it down, keep it to yourself, don’t make waves. The message is always the same; your values are welcome, just not here. Not now, and not out loud.
In Littlestown, Pennsylvania, a retired police officer and now working as a school bus driver decided he was done playing that game.
Dave Bonhoff spent his mornings behind the wheel of a school bus, ferrying kids through the rural roads of Adams County. The children knew him as Mr. Dave. By all accounts, they had a good thing going, but when a student reportedly complained about the red hat Bonhoff wore—a hat bearing four simple words—everything changed.
His employer, Krise Transportation, relayed the message: the school district didn’t want him wearing his Make America Great Again hat anymore. His supervisor even offered to buy him an American flag hat as a compromise. You know, something less offensive than wanting your country to succeed.
Instead he said, "nope," and walked away from the job.
