An election recount conducted on March 13 certified that Lake Worth Beach voters on March 10 rejected removing language from local law referencing the city police and fire departments that no longer exist.
After six hours of recounting thousands of ballots by machine, then more than 100 by hand, Palm Beach County election officials certified that voters defeated the City Commission-supported measure by two votes — 1,640 to 1,638.

Voters did not trust the Lake Worth Beach City Commission who put 5 Charter amendments on the ballot.
I voted YES on Amendment 5. I really liked having our own Police and Fire Departments for many reasons but we will never get them back.
