City Commission would like to promote Jamie Brown to permanent City Manager

LWB commissioners back interim city manager for permanent job, even if he won’t interview for it

It seems that four commissioners want Jamie Brown (my absolute favorite employee) as permanent city manager without an interview as he has held the Interim City Manager position for two years.

But commissioner Anthony Segrich said he was troubled by Brown’s refusal to interview for the full-time post, which has other duties beyond what’s expected from an interim manager.

Other commissioners, however, said it makes no sense to spend money on a search firm when they already have a qualified candidate with whom they are happy. Some criticized Segrich for insisting that Brown apply.

“It’s a bit of an insult, actually,’’ Resch said. And I agree with our Mayor.

I'm more troubled by Anthony Segrich, who has no contact information that connects to him or his office.

Anthony Segrich is probably beating the drum for WMODA. Who are these people? Who are these WMODA people? They aren't Lake Worth People! Who is selling Lake Worth Beach to the developers? Show me a plan for sensible development. Just sticking up a building here or there, where there is an empty space, is not sensible development. And a parking garage yet? You want to park in a parking garage to grab a pizza? You're building a slum, one building at a time!

Isn't it kind of late for an interview. That's laughable!

Jamie Brown as city manager with no other people being considered? Isnt Jamie Brown the same person who allows William Waters to walk all over everyone. William waters is now the head of the city since all other dept heads have quit, so he takes on their responsibility. There is NO checks and balances in LW.

Well, don't worry about it. At some point they will retire.

The city and commissioners must require candidates to be interviewed. The city deserves the best candidate. It is all going to hell with status quo.

The “city” hired a transgender homeless man once before how do you think that worked out?

@3:23. What a stupid ignorant comment that is. Susan Stanton was NOT homeless. She was an excellent city manager who actually got our city in the BLACK. She was fired by a bigotted city commission with Scott Maxwell leading the charge, who got a lot of heat from the Unions. She fired a lot of superflouous personnel.

I disagree with you about her being a good city manager she was not a good city manager and she didn't treat a lot of people well especially a lot of citizens she had no people skills for dealing with the public! Sorry!

Too a lot of it has to do with her insecurities of her gender identity issues that she was dealing with! Insecurities do a lot of damage to social and human relationships!

@4:05 & 4:06...You saw her in a different light than did I. She had to make tough decisions as well as deal with people who didn't like transgenders for whatever reason. Did you know she is now an Episcopalian Priest?

It seems to me that building a complex like this tends to further compress the homeless into green spaces where they are least wanted, but also less visible. I find myself less able to understand the reluctance of any city to take a position that would eliminate or at least lessen homelessness each time I see one of them on a city street. It's like the Joni Mitchell song, "Both Sides Now", which I never really liked the song, but see the relevance of on a daily basis.

Sort of a waste of space to talk about a manager who's been gone for years!

I gave her a rosary once I wonder if she still has it. God bless her anyway I wish no one any ill! If she's bringing more people to Jesus all power to her! She just didn't have the people skills when she was in Lake Worth and dealing with all her own issues to be a city manager she really pissed off a lot of people and mistreated a lot of people!
