Lake Worth Beach wants to cut down this Oak Tree on Lake Avenue
I posted this on my Facebook page yesterday but decided to feature it here as well.
It seems the City is in a qauandry...they don't know how to repair the sidewalk in front of Dave's Last Resort without cutting down this beautiful old Oak tree.
Instead of coming up with better solutions, the easy way out is to cut it down.
A few comments:
Tom Poore: That’s a live oak tree it took lots of years to get that big they should dig up the sidewalk 10 ft around the base of the tree and bring in some mulch around the base and leave the tree be it takes years for a live oak to get that big.
David H Bludworth: Save that tree. (Former State Attorney of Palm Beach County)
Jill Karlin: Horrific!
Our mayor stated that we are not aborists implying that we are clueless.

Well, they can hire an arborist for an opinion. That is an incredibly ignorant statement from the town Mayor. It's hot as hell this year, and the only thing we have to shelter us is a few trees. I think they should plant more trees.
Famous poem for the Mayor to read: "I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree" Joyce Kilmer
Perfect, 7:53!
We don't need an arborist to know the tree is important to most Lake Worth residents---What we do need is a construction expert that knows how to fix such a simple issue--and of course we need a mayor and town government that understands the job is to do the WILL of the residents, not the will of developers or other bureaucrats.
I have had so many calls about this...people can't believe that the Mayor and the city are going to do this. Who can, really?
Oh no Developers gonna ruin everything that’s allresfy trashed! lol
