Elon Musk Accuses Trump Impeachment Witness Alexander Vindman of Treason
Elon Musk took aim at retired Army Lt. Col Alexander Vindman, claiming that he had “committed treason” for accusing the billionaire entrepreneur of selling state secrets to Russia.Vindman, who was a key witness in the impeachment case against Trump over a call the then-president had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accused Musk of working for Russia without offering evidence.
This prompted Musk to hit back at Vindman by accusing him of treason for representing the interests of Ukrainian oligarchs over U.S. national interests.
Vindman claimed during an interview that, "Clearly, Putin has a type. He likes narcissists and egomaniacs that he knows as a case officer can easily pander to manipulate, to do his dirty work. Russia has been using different levers — whether that’s corruption networks, in this case, its influencers like Donald Trump, like Elon Musk, to kind of sow discord.”
That statement prompted Musk to hit back saying, "Vindman is on the payroll of Ukrainian oligarchs and has committed treason against the United States, for which he will pay the appropriate penalty."
