Russia Cuts Off Electricity to Finland As Nation Courts NATO
The Russian supplier claims Finland was cut off for non-payment. The move came as Finnish politicians announced their plan to join the international defense group NATO.Finnish transmission system operator Fingrid said in a statement that Russia’s imports only accounted for 10% of its consumption.
“The lack of electricity import from Russia will be compensated by importing more electricity from Sweden and by generating more electricity in Finland,” Reima Päivinen, senior vice president of power system operations said.
“Finland can cope without Russian electricity, now and even next winter, when the consumption will be higher.”

I saw that interview on FOX. At any rate, they are a long way from actually being accepted. A lot can happen in that time. Finland is a smart country, and they are not going to cut off their nose to spite their face. Putin knows they are a smart country and respects them.

You may have respected Trump, but the wider world viewed him with a jaundiced eye. He might have made some inroads with China, but his inconsistent nature made him a threat. You can't threaten big countries with sanctions, as they will retaliate.
