Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is considering cancelling the
Senate's month-long August recess in order to get more work done. If
there’s one thing Republicans and Democrats can agree on, it’s that
Congress spends too much time away from Capitol Hill.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that
72% of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress spends too much time on
vacation. Twelve percent (12%) disagree, while 16% are not sure. [Rasmussen]
Good for Mitch McConnell. He should cancel the August recess. "Congress never allows its own bad behavior or lack of accomplishment to get in the way of its vacations and recesses,." says The Hill Let's get Trump's nominees confirmed and stop the political hijacking by Chuck Schumer. As of May 1, there were still 300 nominees awaiting Senate confirmation. Let's do the job you were elected to do Senators.
