Another Bar to open in Lake Worth

Well, why not. This is a downtown full of bars and booze and probably "broads" as well as those who also drink kava and use vape. Now they will have a tattoo parlor to boot.

Read about it... and the Phoenix Bar soon to open on June 8th at the site of The Bamboo Room where the Common Ground Church was until recently.

The church wanted to buy the building but was priced out and has moved to 1201 S. Federal Highway. Andy Amoroso said the Common Ground Church was not suited to our downtown.

Good.

I just can't get enough of these bars. I wish they would get some better restaurants as the food sucks in most of these places.

Is Amaroso running everything, I thought his store was supposed to close.

Amoroso has a handle on the downtown. His store is not closing--just re-locating off of Lake Avenue.

Good Food! That's a thing of the past. Unless you want to carefully pick out your food and cook it yourself, you are just getting genetically altered garbage.

Amoroso has a lot of nerve saying who or what is good for anywhere.

WE used to go downtown to eat weekly, now we never go, we used to enjoy Dave's and Toojay's a lot. It is just filled with drunks, smokers, and big egos, one from that guy andy in the corner store next to Starbucks. It is too pricy now, plus the service is horrible. All these wait staff people today want big tips, but they give lousy service. We just do not like the poor service and then they expect you to give 20% tips, so we don't go there anymore. Try Bud's Seafood or the Chinese place in the Boynton mall, two can eat for $6-10 very well. Why bother with dwtn LW! It just is not good anymore!

does amoroso even go to church? he seems to be really lacking in Spirit, almost diabolical.

Amoroso has said, from the dais, that he is "just about an atheist."

Well at least Houston Texas did not do what andy and LW did with churches in the downtown. They have a huge mega church, Lakewood Church, the one with Joel Osteen and it is in the former Compaq stadium, with thousands of parishioners. It is an amazing church and an excellent preacher, Joel has a TV program almost daily you can see him, he is a real inspiration, filled with hope and never judges. What would LW be like if it was filled with more churches and less bars and smoking? Joel says to pray for people like andy, so that is what we will do. Pray for all the elected and leaders here in this city, never give up hope that LW can be great again, it can and will. Just vote for people who have the Holy Spirit in them and are not like most we have in positions of power now. This too soon will pass. andy could glean a great deal from Joel Osteen, he might help make him a better person. Pray for him.

How sad for andy and Lake Worth, and this is who we have running our city and country today!?

Lynn, why let people post anonymously ? If they are too cowardly to put their name down, then why should anyone have to read their simpering comments?

And as for the Bamboo Room being re-purposed to become another bar, this is a great thing for Lake Worth...The acoustics in this club are among the best in any club in all of South Florida. I spoke with many of the national Blues and Jazz acts that used to play at Bamboo Room, and most of them were thrilled to play in a venue with acoustics this spectacular. Hopefully the new club will take advantage of this...and ofcourse, this Music quality potential was sorely wasted on a church. The town of Lake Worth needs to be an Entertainment District, and good Music and Art venues must be in business here for that to happen.

Dan--nice hearing from you--
A church in the downtown is certainly unorthodox, I agree. What bothers me about this is the fact they were, at one time, being run out by a commissioner. As long as it was allowed by code, no one had the right to run them out of town. I would much rather see them there than a tattoo parlor--ugh.
It will give Jon Jordan's club some competition.
Hope they redesign the steps. Dangerous.

@10:30...Trump is a Christian. He attends church although I am not sure he regularly attends. You don't have to attend church service to be a Christian. He has plenty of spirit and even has a spiritual advisor.

10:30am your comment is ignorant and irrelevant to this post.
All the towns in PBC have good restaurants, LW only has Dayane's Bistro on Lucerne. Delray for example has numerous great and varied places, it's not all about booze.

I know soooo many people who stopped coming to Lake Worth when the Bamboo Room closed.

Hopefully this helps the downtown so the powers that be won’t be so inclined to encourage tattoo places and all that crappy looking graffiti. It’s too much already.
