Starbucks Implements Smoking ban in U.S. and Canada

Comment Up

Lot's of things are happening beginning today...hurricane season for one... but there might be a different type of storm when patrons find out that they are banned from smoking in front of Starbucks.

You won't be able to have that smoke along with your cup of java within 25 feet of Starbucks. Depending upon the number of feet they own on the outside of their establishment, the 25 foot ban might be shorter. We will now see people meandering down to Kilwins to sip and smoke.

You could always go down to the kava bar. Don't they do stupid stuff in and around there?

now that is a a picture of a pretty building, clean, no blight. Has successful commercial tennants and residents who pay taxes. Would not any city love this situation in their downtown.

Great move for non smokers, in FL I think it is a law that you cannot smoke within 25ft of public buildings. I think it should be all buildings and even on the beach where people are close to each other in a public place. Smokers have no clue or consideration. The City Hall here in Lake Worth should enforce this too, so often you see so many smoking on the steps outside the front door during the meetings, it is wrong and should be enforced by our city and law enforcers, but they don't I say no smoking near any place the public is walking inter/out of or places like the beach. I wish they would stop allowing smoking in all bars like they do in CA, NY and many other states and countries. Smokers think it is their right to blow their smoke in others faces with no regard or respect for others. Research even shows that cigarette butts are the leading cause of litter in our society. Then smokers wonder why they have all these health problems or have to request handicapped license plates, Hopefully, little by little there will be more of a crackdown on smokers and giving them fewer rights to blow their smoke.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
It is a building that is too high for our downtown. It is a building with barely any setbacks from the street. It is a building with no green. Hard to blight it excepting for the guy who hangs his rug over the balcony on the west side of the building.

9:52 Turn him in. Set back variances are usual in downtowns where every foot is at a premium

This bldg is not beautiful, quite the contrary. Talk about bunkers. Lake Osborne condos have a lot of charm in comparison to this.

Does Starbucks OWN or RENT 25 ft from their building? We ALLOW them to put tables and chairs on OUR PUBLIC SIDEWALKS! Who the heck do these people think they are? NOT THE BOSS OF ME or YOU EITHER!

Lake Worth Starbucks -
Luke is the manager
(561) 582-9791

What's next - farts?
Older people have less muscle control and they slip out! Let's get them too? Then who could be next - women who dye their hair - Oh the lobbyists who allow such bad chemicals to be used then washed down our drains = should we then charge more for sewer service for those who eat meat - yeah - that's another good one!

Come On people! Cigarettes are a LEGAL product sold in stores EVERYWHERE! I smoke away from people and wash more BUTTS in my jeans from taking away all my litter!

Call Starbucks if you agree with me and tell them to keep their policies inside their store - the sidewalks are OURS and the government makes the rules there NOT A CORPORATION! If we let them get away with this - what else will they do TO US instead of FOR US!

The CM and Greg Rice both live in that building right? Does that blight from the rug over the balcony belong to one of them and their condos? Anyone know? Since they contribute to and do not do anything about the blight in this city, right?
