Ms. Ruby Pertee and Ms. Dishune Moore
mothers of two 2009 Triple Homicide domestic violence victims.
Mrs. Pertee spoke and gave the sad facts about the loss of their children to domestic violence and thanked Commissioner Mulvehill for all she has done to bring awareness. Several spoke including Donald Cavanaugh for the GLBT community as well as Penny Darling, Anti-Stalking Victim Advocate.
Domestic violence and abuse is not limited to obvious physical violence. Domestic violence can also mean endangerment, criminal coercion, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, trespassing, harassment, stalking and even cyber attacks. Cyber stalking and attacks are growing abuses and it is estimated that at least one-third of all abusers have some type of mental illness. I emphasized that for the few who constantly come over here with their vile hit and run comments.
The next proclamation was a happier one and it was for our Lake Worth Playhouse declaring October 5, 2012 as Lake Worth Playhouse Day.
