PBS Board Chair wished Trump a Happy Birthday

A PBS Board Chair Wished Donald Trump a Stroke on His 80th Birthday and Got Caught

ABC News just fired Terry Moran for calling Stephen Miller a hater on social media. That was a fireable offense – and the board chairman of a taxpayer-funded PBS affiliate decided to one-up it.

Now Bob Greene is waiting to find out if anyone at Rocky Mountain PBS has the spine to do anything about it. On Sunday, Trump's 80th birthday, an X account posted a simple question: "Donald Trump turns 80 today. Any birthday wishes?"

Bob Greene – the board chairman of Rocky Mountain PBS, the highest governance position at the organization – typed out his answer. "A nice stroke that turns him into a drooling, pooping blob in a wheelchair unable to speak," he wrote.

"This is clearly a deranged individual who should seek professional help," said White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales. She also reminded everyone of what Trump already did: "President Trump rightfully defunded PBS last year, and will continue to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not wasted fueling left-wing propaganda."

That defunding came in July 2025, when Trump signed legislation pulling $1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting – the federal pipeline that kept PBS stations like Rocky Mountain on the air.

Bob Greene's post is a perfect illustration of exactly why that decision was correct.
