Democrat Socialists Win their Primaries

AOC took her seat in 2018 and the left swore she was a fluke

Now three democratic socialists just swept New York's congressional primaries – and two of them knocked out sitting congressmen. Charlie Kirk saw every bit of this coming, but he just didn't live to see it land.

Kirk was assassinated on a college campus in September 2025 – shot in the neck by a politically motivated gunman while speaking at Utah Valley University in front of 3,000 people. The ideas that just won New York are the same ones he spent his career fighting.

On Tuesday, all three candidates backed by New York's openly socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani won their Democrat congressional primaries.

• Brad Lander defeated incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman – capturing roughly two-thirds of the vote.
• Darializa Avila Chevalier knocked out 10-year Rep. Adriano Espaillat, the chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
•  Claire Valdez won the open seat left by retiring Rep. Nydia Velázquez.

All three will almost certainly win their deep-blue districts in November. Kirk had predicted exactly this.

In 2020, he told reporter Randy DeSoto: "I've told people she's going to multiply in Congress. There are hyper-entitled, clueless millennials that are ready to undo every piece of true progress that our country has made over the last 200 years…"
