Michigan Democratic Rep. Brenda Lawrence said Tuesday she remains supportive of the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry following comments over the weekend in which she said she preferred censuring Trump to impeaching and removing him from office.
"We're so close to an election. I will tell you, sitting here knowing how divided this country is, I don't see the value of taking him out of office, but I do see the value of putting down a marker saying his behavior is not acceptable," Lawrence said Sunday on "No BS News Hour" with Charlie LeDuff. "It's in violation of the office and the oath of office of President of the United States, and we have to be clear that you cannot use your power of the presidency to withhold funds to get a foreign country to investigate an American citizen for your own personal gain. There's no way around that."

Yes, I read your article and the article says she has recanted her earlier comments.
I'm able to read her words in which she says she's still supportive of impeachment. I don't need Punching Bag Post to put their right wing spin on what congresswoman said.
What the article said--"A few days later, in a letter to the Metro Times, Lawrence clarified she still supports impeachment but considers censure a more feasible option given the expected response from the GOP-controlled Senate."
Now, you might not need a right wing spin to what she said but I don't need your alt-left spin here. You democrats are making a huge mistake...will go forward with impeachment because all the sorry Democrats can't win without kicking Trump out of office--BUT IT WILL FAIL. You know it. We all know it.
