These were acts of war.
The U.S. ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, was killed in the attack, the State Department said. Sean Smith, a Foreign Service information management officer, and two other U.S. personnel also died in the violence in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a statement Wednesday.
We give $1.5 billion to Egypt every year and have spent about the same amount in Libya. Isn't it time that we know our enemies and who are friends are in the Middle East? Yesterday the White House said that President Barack Obama would not meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a U.S. visit later this month.

Isn't Obama a Muslim
Where was Maxwell?
As for me... Mohammed can embark on a aeronautical sexual intercourse on a rolling piece of pastry... if you don't know what it means, ask any ex-military.
Regarding Charles, there are many very intelligent people that are out of touch with reality. I happen to think he is one those.
And your observations are based on?????? your medical degree??????
God Bless Our Civilian Employees serving us abroad and God Bless our Military.
HERE ARE THE FACTS:
7/1/12:
Self-described California real-estate developer Israeli Jew Sam Bacile releases a 13-minute trailer for "The Real Life of Muhammad," an amateurishly produced anti-Islamic movie. (Go watch a bit of it... that anyone ponied up $5M for this dreck should tell you something)
9/9/12:
The clip was launched on YouTube by an unknown person or group.
9/10/12:
Florida “Rev.” Terry Jones, who leads a tiny church infamous for threatening it would burn Korans, releases a YouTube announcing he'll screen Bacile's anti-Islamic trailer as part of "International Judge Mohammad 'Mo' Day."
9/11/10:
News of both You Tube releases floods Egypt, among the most wired of Middle Eastern countries. Demonstrations are mounted. The Cairo Embassy releases this statement:
"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."
9/11/12:
At 10:09PM the Romney campaign releases a statement with a headline claiming it was "embargoed until midnight tonight" (but released at 10:09 PM). The statement is from Romney himself and condemns both the attacks and the administration.
"I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It's disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."
This statement confuses the first declaration from the Cairo embassy condemning the videos prior to the attacks and the second declaration from the U.S. government condemning the attacks. It also gets several facts wrong including the number of deaths (4, including Ambassador Stevens).
Romney doubled down this morning condemning the embassy statement as an attack on free speech, an apology for our values but the embassy clearly understood that in the Islamic world the sacrilege in the film was the issue and spoke from the perspective of religious freedom and toleration.
Neo-cons have a long history of creating "facts" from their own fiction. The guys advising Romney are some of the same that helped sell fearful Americans the Saddam/9-11 lie. The Iraq war costs will total over $1 TRILLION... and they're itching to do the same with Iran. Krauthammer is a paid media mouthpiece for them... do you want his advice on Middle East tensions, or the diplomats on the ground risking their lives?
Where did you cut and past that? Romney was right. What will it take now...another 11 years to find out who killed our people and waged war on us? Obama is in bed with he Muslim Brotherhood, enemies of the U.S.
Poster of Hear are the Facts, thank you for the reality check. It sucks that Candidate Romney couldn't keep his mouth shut until all of the facts were out. More than anything President Obama has said or done Romney's press release and follow up comments show a total disregard for the reality of foreign policy and instead makes a (mis) calculated campaign maneuver out of the tragedy.
Anonymous at 7:33 you have lost the plot and need to go find your white sheet for your cross burning tonight. Sad.
I hold the maker of the film and whoever released it totally responsible for what happened in Egypt and Libya. Why would anyone take a chance on militant extremes
acting any other way they did.
Please do not say freedom of speech,
I am all for freedom of speech. That is why we have laws saying you can't holler fire in a crowed building.
Did you see the film It is a spoof. It is a joke. The terrorists were looking for an excuse and they found one.
I don't think it was a joke, but it certainly made a good smoke screen. We have a more sophisticated enemy than a simple mob demonstration.
