Grassley says Jack Smith’s probe seized reporter texts and thousands of donors’ bank records
Sen. Chuck Grassley, Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says Jack Smith's Arctic Frost probe seized journalist texts and donor bank records from thousands of Americans, moves he claims undermined the rule of law.The New York Post reported that Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) charged Tuesday that former special counsel Jack Smith and his investigators obtained communications from reporters at more than a dozen media outlets and financial information from thousands of Americans.
Grassley said the haul came through Smith’s “Arctic Frost” probe, the same investigation that produced a four-count indictment of President Trump for allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 election.
Whistleblower disclosures reaching the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman’s office underpinned the claims. Grassley made additional whistleblower material public during the Tuesday hearing in Washington.
