Deadline today for Democrats and Republicans to make a Deal

Trump, Dems Leave Meeting Without Shutdown Deal

By the time this blog launches, a deal might have been made

Congressional leaders on Monday left a White House meeting with President Trump without a deal to avoid a government shutdown before government funding lapses in a little more than 24 hours.

Both Republicans and Democrats remain dug in on their positions. Barring a last-minute breakthrough, a shutdown is increasingly likely.

Democrats are demanding that Republicans agree to concessions on health care to illegals. The GOP is set on a clean seven-week funding extension.

Democratic leaders are pushing for an extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies from the COVID-19 era, set to expire this year, and a reversal of Republican-supported Medicaid changes.

If no deal is struck, at 00:01 EDT on Wednesday (05:01 BST), the US will have its first shutdown for nearly seven years. At this point, prospects for some kind of government shutdown appear high, and Vice-President JD Vance said as much after Trump met the congressional leaders on Monday.

Republicns want to reduce government and our national debt is just under $37.0 trillion, a figure that grows when government spending exceeds its revenue, which Democrats continue to do.

WASHINGTON — A federal judge on Tuesday heavily criticized the Trump administration's crackdown on free speech as he ruled in favor of foreign students the government has targeted for their support of Palestinian rights.

Massachusetts-based U.S. District Judge William Young, an appointee of President Ronald Reagan, ruled that foreign students enjoy the same free speech protections under the Constitution's First Amendment as American citizens do.

He found that government officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, "deliberately and with purposeful aforethought, did so concert their actions and those of their two departments intentionally to chill the rights to freedom of speech and peacefully to assemble."

Conservative Reagan federal judge saying that Trump is stomping on free speech in America. Un-American MAGA actions continue to be shot down by judges as Americans address the enemy within. More to come.

@6:39...Again, your comment has nothing to do with this blog. You ask me if "i'm losing it" when in actuality you are disrespectful for never following the rules here.
This judge has been on the bench for 40 years. "Though he found that the government violated the First Amendment, Young for now held off on ordering changes to administration policies. The judge said he would hold additional proceedings to secure relief that goes beyond ordering public officials to “cease and desist in the future.” He warned, however, that given Trump and the “rapidly changing nature of the Executive Branch under Article II of our Constitution,” a remedy might not be obtainable. "
Go somewhere else and rant.
