Appeals Court Strikes Down Down Biden Proposed Rules

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has struck down regulatory actions taken by the Department of Energy (DOE) under the Biden administration, targeting dishwashers as part of its aggressive climate and energy efficiency agenda.

In its ruling, the court stated that the DOE’s decision to repeal a Trump-era regulation governing water use in dishwashers and clothes washers was a victory for both Republican states and consumer advocacy groups.

The decision, which was issued late Monday, overturned the DOE’s repeal of the regulation in 2020, effectively reinstating the earlier standards.
