Opening our Beach - Commission Meeting of last night

"If you want to get sun, do it in front of your house," says Commissioner Hardy

Continually instilling fear and in total disagreement with the State of Florida as well as Palm Beach County, Commissioner Hardy dominated the conversation once again. At 6:51 into the meeting, he made a motion not to open the beach at this time. Herman seconded it for discussion. Hardy wanted to shut down the conversation and didn't even want to hear staff's presentation. He did not want our beach opened at all or at any time soon.

Hardy doesn't even want people to be allowed to enter the ocean to swim. The experts agree that while waterborne transmission of the novel coronavirus may be possible, it’s highly unlikely. Hardy made it clear that our residents are not a priority nor are our tenants at the beach or any of our merchants downtown. I guess scientists should run our country and not we the people.

Staff Proposal for Phase One is the one I believe the commission is approving at the moment, at least as far as parking is concerned. The Palm Beach County order will prevail.

For some trivia: On November 5, 2002, a bond referendum was passed by the voters of Palm Beach County in the amount of $50 million. On October 17, 2006, the Parks and Recreation Department Palm Beach County approved an Interlocal Agreement with Lake Worth for $5 mil from the Recreational and Cultural Bond. That agreement fell through because the County insisted that Lake Worth match it with $3,620,800. A new agreement was drawn and the new agreement included no matching money. This new agreement was signed in 2010. The stipulation was that we had to have 613 parking spaces for the public. Former Commissioner Cara Jennings saved 50 spaces for resident decal parking over and above that amount for a total of 663 spaces at our beach.

After the presentation, Hardy made a motion with 3 amendments, all failed. The 3rd motion made by Commissioner Maxwell passed on a 4/1...to open our beach--"Motion made by Commissioner Maxwell and seconded by Vice Mayor Amoroso to approve the phased in approach outlined by the City Manager and giving City Manager Bornstein the complete authority to take any action to mirror the County and to take any action he deemed necessary at his discretion.

I have to wonder what will happen if the County wants all parking spaces to open and the city decides to have less. Can the city actually make a tighter requirement based on the agreement of the bond money we received?

Bill Maher prayed for a recession as the only way to stop the re-election 0f America's greatest President, Donald J. Trump.
Omari is pushing the anti- opening agenda to extend the closure of businesses and the beach parking lot, and to be the focus of city and county meetings pushing Lake Worth and the County and the entire country into a depression before the November 3rd 2020 election.

if the cm has all this authority at his discretion why are we paying 4 commissioners and 1 mayor.is it just to see the side show at the meetings

I think this should go viral rather than the bull he did last month at city hall. What is he trying to prove? Do you think he really beleives this stuff?

I don't wear a mask, Omari. Stuff it.

Omari has come out as the unhinged maniac he’s always been but managed to keep under wraps during his time in Lake Worth. Since his bestie Gilliam had his humiliating fall exposing himself as a fraud, Hardy is going out guns blazing on to his next scam .
It’s not easy on ones psyche to keep things on the down low for so long.

Finally people are seeing the light on Hardy. He is way too focused on national politics and either doesn’t know or doesn’t care about the role of a city commissioner. Does he even know that’s his title? I’m not sure.

The Coronavirues is both a local issue as well as a national issue. Omari believes we should close down our country and our local economy. This belief is radical to say the least. We have been closed for 2 months now--that's enough. We all need to get back to work. 14 states are easing lockdown rules today.
